Columbus, Ohio – March 25, 2021 – Kimball Midwest is supporting COVID-19 mass vaccination sites at multiple NFL stadiums in partnership with the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) and wholesaler-distributors across the country.
The distributors are providing donations of needed personal protective equipment and other items, including gloves, sanitizer, pumps, masks, shields and wipes. Kimball Midwest has donated face shields and gallons of sanitizer pump containers to the effort.
The first mass vaccination sites to receive donations were the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Heinz Field and the Detroit Lions’ Ford Field, where several Kimball Midwest associates visited the vaccination site March 25 along with NAW President & CEO Eric Hoplin and representatives of other participating distributors.
“It was encouraging to see the vaccination site in action,” said Meaghan McCurdy, Kimball Midwest’s Director of Culture, Diversity and Inclusion, who was part of the tour. “We’re excited to partner with the NAW, the NFL and other distributors as part of this effort to combat COVID-19 in our communities.”
Donated items already in use include more than 300,000 medical gloves, thousands of gallons of sanitizer and sanitizer pumps, thousands of face masks and shields, and thousands of disinfectant wipes.
The NAW is planning additional mass vaccination efforts in cooperation with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks.
“As our country moves to a new phase in our pandemic recovery, it is no surprise that wholesaler-distributors are delivering by donating needed supplies to mass vaccination sites across the country,” Hoplin said. “NAW and wholesaler-distributors across the country are proud to help NFL teams and vaccination sites because we know how important it is to safely get more shots in arms as we seek to put the COVID-19 pandemic in the past.”
